Amazing experience from start to end. Didn’t really know what to do to book online so messaged via whatsapp. Came back with a quote and then I tweaked it once I know what my plans were. When I landed again they were really good at communicating what I needed to do to get the license and where to pick it up from outside the airport. The bike was near new, loved that the petrol cap wasn’t under the seat so i could get it filled up whilst still sitting. Definitely made the right choice getting a moped over a tuk tuk as the roads are slow and I was able to over take easy. Dropping off was just as easy and was given a ride back to my hotel. I would 100% use them again.Posted on Google Lee CallinanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We hired a tuk tuk from Noha to travel the West Coast of Sri Lanka for 5 days, every detail from first email to the last email was professional and on point to make our experiance a unforgetable lifetime adventure, Noha sorted everything from licence, pick up and delivery of the tuk tuk. Highly reccomend. Lee & Scott CallinanPosted on Google Leigh SagerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My husband and I used NOHA for 2 scooters for nearly four months while in Kandy. I couldn’t recommend this company more. They were super responsive, easy to renew our rental, and helped us a few times organise monthly maintenance to keep the scooters in great shape. Both the scooters were in excellent condition and worked perfectly our entire trip. When one side stand got a little loose, NOHA coordinated a mechanic to fix it for us in 5 min. We used these scooters reliably for our full time here. WhatsApp communication was smooth and super fast responses - English was excellent and easy to understand. Payment was so easy. Helmets provided. We had our scooters delivered and collected right from our door. I really couldn’t ask for more. If you are looking for a reliable company to use, you should absolutely go with NOHA.Posted on Google Philipp RiedelTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. 10/10 Experience, 10/10 Friendly, 10/10 Communicative We booked NOHA TukTuk using the website Riderly. 1 Day before our Pick up, he had to change scooters because of technical difficulties but he handled everything with ease. We got a flawless and new scooter for our Adventures. All in all one of the best Experiences I could’ve imagined and big thank you to NOHA and his wife running this Rental as a two (wo)man show.Posted on Google Meghan WystrichowskiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After reading a Facebook review in the Sri Lankan backpacking group i decided to reach out to these guys and I’m so glad i did. My first driving permit which i got at Columbo airport expired and as we were staying longer in Sri Lanka I needed a new permit . I contacted them by WhatsApp and they were brilliant , answered all my questions and were professional and patient, I sent all the required documents and payment and within a few days my new permit arrived at my accommodation by courier. Such a great experience with this company and would recommend to anyone.

What You Need to Rent a Scooter in Sri Lanka
You need three things to ride a scooter legally in Sri Lanka: a valid home driving licence, a local driving permit, and to be at least 18 years old.
The local permit is the part most travellers worry about, and it is simpler than it looks. The permit costs 15,000 LKR for one month. There are two ways to get one, and we handle the paperwork either way.
Airport Collection (the easy route)
If your home licence is in English, you can collect your permit at Bandaranaike International Airport when you land. The counter is in the arrivals area and is open 24 hours. You can have your permit and be riding the same day.
Through the Automobile Association of Ceylon (AAC)
If you prefer, we arrange the permit through the AAC. For this route you need an International Driving Permit from your home country alongside your licence.
Either way, every one of our 1,000-plus customers has had their permit arranged in advance. None has been turned away at the permit stage. For the full requirements, read our guide to scooter rental requirements in Sri Lanka.
Where You Can Ride
We have pick-up and drop-off points across the island. If your location is not listed, message us and we will arrange it.
Galle, Unawatuna, Mirissa, Weligama, Hikkaduwa, Tangalle, Hiriketiya, Dickwella, Kataragama, Matara, Tissamaharama, Ahangama
Colombo, Mt. Lavinia, Negombo, Dehiwala, Beruwala, Aluthgama, Induruwa, Bentota, Kalutara, Panadura, Waskaduwa
Trincomalee, Nilaveli, Uppuveli, Panama, Arugam Bay, Kalkudah, Kumana, Batticaloa, Mullaitivu
Kandy, Ella, Hali Ela, Haputale, Hatton, Nuwara Eliya, Matale, Dambulla, Sigiriya, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Udawalawe, Kalpitiya, Jaffna
For coastal trips, a scooter is ideal. A scooter has no boot, so whatever you bring rides between your feet or on your back, which is a good reason to pack light. For the hill country climbs around Ella and Nuwara Eliya, you may want more power, in which case see our motorbike rental in Sri Lanka.
If you are based in the south, our most popular pick-up point is Galle. See rent a scooter in Galle for routes and local detail.

When a Scooter Is Not the Right Choice
A scooter is not the right vehicle for every traveller, and it is worth being honest about that before you book.
- If you are travelling as a group of three or more with luggage, a tuk tuk carries you all more comfortably.
- If you have never ridden in left-hand traffic, give yourself a quiet first day on smaller roads before taking on a main route.
- If your plan is long daily distances across the island, a scooter will manage it, but a motorbike handles the hill climbs with less strain.
- If you only plan to stay at one beach resort with no road travel, you may not need a vehicle at all.
Full Insurance, Included Free
Every vehicle on the road in Sri Lanka must carry insurance that covers the rider, because standard policies do not extend to third-party drivers. With NOHA, comprehensive insurance is included with every scooter, arranged specifically for foreign riders.
The cover protects:
- The rider operating the scooter
- Any passenger travelling with you
- The scooter itself
- Third-party vehicles or people involved in an incident
This comes as standard, at no extra cost, for your whole rental period.
Repair Costs Covered
If the scooter has a mechanical problem during normal use, we cover the repair. There are no hidden charges. Damage caused by misuse, such as riding through water or on the beach, is the rider's responsibility, so the terms stay clear on both sides.
Personal Travel Insurance
Our vehicle insurance covers the scooter and third parties. It does not cover your personal medical costs, so we recommend taking out your own travel insurance for the trip.
When you choose a policy, check that it covers riding a motorbike or scooter, as some standard travel policies exclude two-wheelers.Â
