Driving a tuk tuk out of Bentota
Aluthgama, just 2.5 km across the river bridge, and Induruwa's turtle hatchery, 6 km south, are both easy, unhurried tuk tuk rides. Beruwala and Kosgoda, a little further at 8 km and 11 km, stay on the same flat coast road.
The longer run south to Galle, 56 km away, is manageable on a tuk tuk but takes real time — build in a couple of hours rather than treating the map distance as the drive time.
