Riding a motorbike out of Arugam Bay
The short hops around the bay and to Pottuvil don't need much more than a scooter, but the extra power matters on the longer east-coast runs — south to Kumana, or the long haul west toward Ella or Tissamaharama.
The road to Kumana is rougher than the coastal stretch through the bay itself, and a 150cc handles that kind of surface with more confidence than a smaller-engine scooter.
