Driving a car out of Colombo
Air conditioning and a locked boot make a car the comfortable choice for the airport run — Katunayake is about 30 km — or the two-hour expressway drive south to Galle.
Mount Lavinia's beach, 11 km south of the centre, and Negombo, about 35 km north near the airport, are both easy add-ons if you want a beach stop without committing to the full trip south.

Colombo is a long way from our Galle base, up on the west coast, but we regularly arrange pickup and drop-off across the city — near the airport, Galle Face, or your hotel — message us your dates and flight details.

- Which car model should I pick?
- The Alto K10 suits two people with carry-on-sized bags — easy for an airport run. Arriving with more luggage or heading straight down to Galle after landing, the Wagon R or Aqua fit more, and the Prius has the most boot space for a full group.
- Is this self-drive, or can I hire a driver too?
- Self-drive is the default — you get the keys, and we handle your Sri Lankan necessary paperwork before you arrive. If you'd rather not drive yourself, a chauffeur option is available on all four models, with the rate quoted per trip on WhatsApp.
- Can you deliver a car to Katunayake Airport?
- Yes. We arrange pickup and drop-off between Colombo, the airport, and Galle — message us your flight details and we'll sort the logistics.
- Can I start in Colombo and finish on the south coast?
- Yes. Plenty of guests pick up near the airport or in Colombo and drive down to Galle or beyond. Tell us your plans and we'll arrange collection at the other end.
