Driving a car out of Negombo
A car makes the airport run comfortable straight off a flight — Katunayake is about 11 km — and it's the practical choice if you're heading on to Colombo, 35 km south, or further down to Galle the same day.
Chilaw, a little further north at roughly 45 km, and Waikkal's river-trip launch point are both easy add-ons with a boot for luggage and the air conditioning worth having on Sri Lanka's low-lying coast.

Pickup in Negombo
Negombo is up on the west coast, a long way from our Galle base, but being just 11 km from Katunayake Airport, we regularly arrange pickup and drop-off right at the terminal — message us your dates and flight details.

- Which car model should I pick?
- The Alto K10 covers two people and carry-on bags — practical straight off a flight. With more check-in luggage or a family arriving together, the Wagon R or Aqua fit more, and the Prius has the most boot space for the drive on to Colombo or Galle.
- Is this self-drive, or can I hire a driver too?
- Self-drive is the default — you get the keys, and we handle your Sri Lankan necessary paperwork before you arrive. If you'd rather not drive yourself, a chauffeur option is available on all four models, with the rate quoted per trip on WhatsApp.
- Can you deliver a car to Katunayake Airport?
- Yes. Negombo is the closest town to the airport, so this is one of our most common pickup points — message us your flight details and we'll arrange the timing.
- Can I start in Negombo and finish on the south coast?
