Negombo's beach road and the short run out to Katunayake Airport, about 11 km, are easy scooter distances — a practical way to get moving straight after landing.
Waikkal, a similar distance north, and the longer stretch to Colombo, roughly 35 km south, are both manageable, though the roads get busier closer to the capital.
