Riding a motorbike out of Sigiriya

A 150cc has more than enough power for the short, flat hops between the rock fortress, Habarana, and Dambulla, where a scooter would do just as well. The extra power starts to matter on the longer cultural-triangle loop out to Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura.

It matters more still on the climb south to Kandy, where the road gains height in a way the flat triangle roads don't — a motorbike handles the gradient with less strain than two wheels with a smaller engine.

Questions about motorbike rental in Sigiriya

Is a motorbike better than a scooter here?
For the longer runs to Anuradhapura or south toward Kandy, yes — more power makes the distance easier. For short hops around Sigiriya and Dambulla, either works fine.
Can I ride with a passenger?
Yes. Both rider and passenger need a helmet, included with the rental.
Can I return the motorbike somewhere other than Sigiriya?
Yes, one-way rentals to Kandy or elsewhere can be arranged — tell us your plans and we'll sort the logistics.
