Riding a scooter out of Weligama
The bay road is flat and easy riding, past the surf schools that line the beach and the stilt fishermen further along. A scooter is genuinely the practical choice here — most of what there is to see in Weligama itself is within walking or short-riding distance.
Mirissa and Ahangama are both under ten kilometres in opposite directions along the same coast road, so a scooter makes it easy to base yourself in Weligama and day-trip either way without committing to a bigger bike. Fuel stops are easy to find along this stretch too, so range isn't something to worry about, and the road stays flat the whole way in both directions.
